Easter Weekend and Such

Well, I haven't had a chance to update for awhile now. So, I wanted to post some pictures of some things that Lexi got for Easter from family that were not here.
She got this adorable outfit/s from my Grandpa Marty and Grandma Ilene. It's very, very cute. :) And, it's the perfect size for her to wear just as the weather is getting nicer outside. Thanks so much!! We love it.

Lexi and I got an Easter basket from my Dad and Heidi. We really enjoyed the yummy chocolates and Lexi devoured the candy stick (like a candy cane) after lunch one day. Thanks guys!

Chris was home for Easter weekend and us three spent time together and also with both sides of our families. On Sunday Lexi woke up to a basket from Chris and I at my house and then we went to Cheryl's, Chris's mom, house for breakfast where she received another basket. After we spent some time there, we drove to mom's house and had an Easter Egg hunt with Colby and Daimyon followed by a delicious lunch. Then we drove back home to have dinner at Grandpa Dick and Grandma Jane's house (with another basket lol). So, in the end we came home with lots and lots of candy... it should last us an entire year or longer.

We've had a great week or so since I haven't been working. We have spent a lot of time together and caught up with many of our friends.

We had a yummy lunch with steak, and potatoes, and mac-n-cheese with Glory, Josh and Malaika.
Here's a picture of the boys with the girls. :)

We also were able to go to Katina's and spend several hours over there. The girls played while Katina and I caught up. Here is a picture of Lexi holding baby Marley:

I have had several interviews this week and have others scheduled for next week. I'm hopeful that something will line up here shortly. But, in the meantime, I'm enjoying just going to school full-time and spending time with Lexi, family, and friends. :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!
Love ya!

“This is not the end...

...It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
-Winston Churchill

Well, today will be a sad day for me. Tonight is my last night with HCM. I have a few promising job options, but I don't want to jinx myself. So, I'll update on new positions as they arise. But, I am so very blessed with so many wonderful things in my life. I'm anxious to see how this new step in my journey turns out. As one door closes, so many more will open up.

Last night I enjoyed a night with Kayla and Glory working together our last night as a management team for our shift. We worked together at Glory's house. We laughed and ate pizza and talked about our options for the future. It's been quite the ride with these amazing gals. It's hard to know our time together with HCM has come to an end. I'm going to add some pictures from our trip for the annual company meeting last year in Atlanta. We had a lot of fun.
These are my ladies :) Kayla and Glory. We had quite the time running our shift together and have become quite close over the years. They put up with me so well haha :)
Here is our entire management team for all shifts.
This is Jim and I. He believed in me from the start and helped me to gain many skills and a better understanding of managing as a whole. He is a good man.
Finally, this is Freddie Rick with Glory and I. He is the founder and CEO of Better Trades. While a chapter in our lives is closing with Better Trades now, he and his company have blessed us all with so much.

In the coming days I am looking forward to some house cleaning, book reading, easter egg hunting, family dinners, the circus, and even the down time.

The future has so much in store for me. Bring it on.

First Spring Picnic Of The Year

Hello All! :)
Today Chris enjoyed a picnic with us out on the grass in the beautiful weather!

I have been applying for positions around the area like mad. Our fingers are crossed. Something will materialize.

Here is a picture from the picnic...
Have a great weekend everyone.
Love you all!

On the Hunt

Well, today has been an interesting day for us. Lexi and I had school this morning and we followed that up by a trip to the library to check out some books. After that, we went to Wal-Mart to retrieve the short list of items we were in need of.

Tonight I have found out that I will no longer have a job because our entire department is being shut down. So, I am on the hunt for new work. What a scary place to be right now, but I am doing my best to stay positive and appreciate all I do have. I have a wonderful support base filled with family and friends that love me dearly.

I will pull through - stronger than I was before. All thoughts and prayers are welcome.

Love you all!

First of Many

Well, here it is. Our family blog :)

I'm sure I should have a lot more to say beings this is the first post, but I'll just start with the absolute basics to catch everyone up (in case you weren't already of course).

Lexi is now three years old and in preschool. She is absolutely amazing of course (she gets it from me no doubt ;) lol). She is witty and charismatic, adventurous and bold, honest and inquisitive, loving and kind, absolutely beautiful, and most definitely a 'mini-me' - of which I take a lot of pride in no doubt. She is the biggest blessing I've ever been given. I hope to share some of her hilarious quotations and fun adventures with you all.

Of course I can't explain how my life is without mentioning Chris. He is absolutely amazing and we have shared so much. From being my best friend for many years, nearly dying on me last year (I know it is very serious, but him and I try to make light of it when we can), growing as a couple through many life hurdles, and staying strong throughout whatever is thrown at us, we have become quite the team. He treats me like gold and makes me happier than I thought possible. :)
Ok, enough sappy stuff.

College is still in full force and I will have earned my second Associates degree this May. I keep trying to see where life will take me. I'm still not quite sure who I want to be "when I grow up." Life always works itself out.

Well, that's enough of a very basic life update. Hopefully I do well at keeping this updated on what is going on in our little family. I hope to regularly update with pictures also - so you can't miss how fast Lexi is growing!

Enjoy the new and beautiful spring weather!
